We are keen to recruit a motivated Support Worker to join our team. Enabling people to live enriched and varied lives is at the heart of everything we do.

2a Court Road is a purpose-built residential care home that prides itself on its homely, warm environment. It offers a high standard of individualised care to people with learning disability, autism, and mental health needs. The service is divided into 3 houses with 5 people living in each house. We are here to support the residents as individuals and enable them to safely live the lives that they choose, both at home and in the community.
In your role as a Support worker, you will work with an established team and be provided with the training and support that you need to succeed. Due to the location of the home and the need to access activities within the local community, it is essential that you are a driver.

**As a Support Worker your responsibilities will include**:

- Encourage and enable the people we support to make day-to-day choices and major life decisions, signposting as appropriate, and to develop a positive self-image and maintain good health.
- Support them to develop relationships to maintain contact with family and friends.
- Provide them with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and to develop social and life skills.
- Work through a 6-month probation to allow you to develop your skills with the support of your line manager.

**The successful Support Worker will**:

- Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, the people we support and a range of stakeholders.
- Have a caring manner and a tolerant nature, have some experience within the sector and be willing to work with us in the training that your job role requires.
- Hold a full clean driving licence.
- NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care preferable, or willing to train to an equivalent standard.
- An understanding of person-centred planning.
- Will promote choice and positive risk taking to the people we support.

At Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:

- 30 days annual leave entitlement
- Company pension scheme, to help grow your retirement pot
- Learning and development opportunities to help you to build your career, including a comprehensive induction programme, and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications

- Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
- Get paid when you want - access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet
- Access to an Employee Discount Platform from day one, with discounts and cashback for hundreds of retailers
- An employee referral scheme that allows you to earn points that can be converted to cash for family members or friends that you point in Milestones’ direction.
