Due to our continual growth at Melton Building Society, we have an exciting opportunity in our Risk and Compliance department. This role is a full-time, permanent **Financial Crime Advisor** on a hybrid basis and is an excellent opportunity for a process driven, team player with exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.

**About the position**

As a Financial Crime Advisor, you will be responsible for:

- Assist in the development of the Financial Crime Policy, guidance and controls.
- Create, review and maintain the department’s Financial Crime procedures where required.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to the wider Society on the Society’s Financial Crime procedures.
- Assist with the production of Financial Crime Management Information.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Financial Crime related risk assessments.
- Support the design and delivery of Financial Crime role-specific training.
- Conduct Due Diligence and other checks on customer accounts.
- Conduct in depth Enhanced Due Diligence assessments for high-risk customers and obtain and document approval for recommended actions.
- Review, investigate and escalate Transaction Monitoring alerts and Suspicious Activity Reports as required.
- Review, investigate and escalate PEP, Sanction, Adverse media, eID&V and manual ID referrals.
- Support reviews, gap analyses, control testing and assurance in relation to Financial Crime controls and compliance.
- Support the DMLRO with relationship management and maintenance of key third party systems.

**What are we looking for?**

**Experience**
- Experience conducting financial crime investigations (e.g. SARs, TM, EDD) would be desirable
- A relevant Financial Crime Qualification e.g. ICA Certificate would be advantageous
- Knowledge of relevant UK Financial Crime laws and regulations would be desirable
- Financial services experience is desirable but not essential
