Oak Tree Day Nursery and Preschool are looking for a Nursery Assistant to join their team. In this role you will need to provide the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with management, colleagues and parents.

Our nursery is open from 7.30am - 18:30pm and we would require you to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times. Oak Tree Day Nursery in Finchampstead, Wokingham really lives up to its ‘Outstanding’ reputation and we are proud to have been awarded this by Ofsted four times.

**Nursery Assistant main responsibilities include**:

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
- Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
- Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
- Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
- Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

**Nursery Assistant requirements and skills**:

- Undertaking a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification - desirable
- Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
- Over 6 months experience of working in Early Years - essential
- Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
