Oak Tree Day Nursery & Pre School are a small, homely setting who have a passion for environments and nature. We have been awarded our Eco schools Green Flag award and all of our older rooms have free flow access to the gardens throughout the day. We have Mini Nature Artist classes every other week within preschool which combines our love for nature with art and helps to develop our Oak Tree Oasis which is a little garden at the front of the nursery where we plan to grow our own plants to make natural inks to create artwork with.

This role is working 40 hours per week, various shift patterns between the opening and closing times of the nursery 07:30am-18:30pm. You will need to have a passion for working within childcare.

**As Nursery Assistant, you will**:

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
- Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
- Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
- Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
- Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

**As Nursery Assistant, you will need**:

- Undertaking a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification - desirable
- Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
- Over 6 months experience of working in Early Years - essential
- Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
