**POST TITLE**:Education and Wellbeing Practitioner

**RESPONSIBLE TO**:CEO

**SALARY**: £11.02 (£21,269 FTE)

**HOURS**:30 Hours (Monday-Thursday), occasional evenings and weekends required.

**CONTRACT**:6 months (maternity cover), dependent on ongoing funding.

**JOB PURPOSE**:

- We are looking for a passionate, solution-focused and dependable person to play a vital and rewarding part in helping to support the work within YiS’s Education and_
- Outreach team, working closely with the team to develop and deliver innovative mental health and wellbeing programmes including virtual wellbeing workshops in an inspiring and engaging manner to young people and professionals. To support the needs and desires of young people accessing mental health and wellbeing support and working collaboratively with other organisations such as CAMHS, NHS, Schools and colleges and CYP network groups._
- Within this role you will also be required to help young people develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage their own mental health and wellbeing. Using resources and activities to help empower young people to make positive lifestyle changes. The role will take a holistic approach that helps increase a young person's overall wellbeing and aspirations to live a healthier and happier life._

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- To support the development of the Education and Outreach.
- You will plan and deliver early intervention and support to children and young people through the delivery of education and wellbeing sessions around a range of mental health and wellbeing topics to include one-to-one and group sessions.
- To assist the managers and CEO to draw up and collate relevant information and statistics required in line with MK YiS and funders requirements.
- To research and share helpful information and techniques such as grounding techniques, mindfulness practices, and overall wellbeing coping strategies.
- To coordinate activities with young people, recruit and support representatives for steering group panels, peer-working into schools and work jointly and collaboratively with other CYP organisations.
- To support, develop and promote positive youth-led initiatives in Milton Keynes in participation with young people.
- To work on Mental Health campaigns and projects, such as Children’s Mental Health Week, Mental Health Awareness Day, World Mental HealthDay, etc.
- To provide personalised mental health and wellbeing coaching sessions to be delivered one-to-one to young people with low level mental health and emotional wellbeing needs.
- To support and enhance MK YiS social media presences, including interacting with young people and the wider community, promoting brand-focused interactive and engaging content, and expanding opportunities for revenue.
- To advise and signpost young people, parents and professionals on further information to ensure young people get the right support.
