The role

Fugro is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven professional to lead up the Coastal Resilience sector (CRSL) in Europe Africa (EUAF). As part of the regional strategic sales & marketing team the role reports into the Regional Director and forms part of a coalition with the other sector leads of renewables and new energies.

The world’s coastlines are under constant threat from sea level rises, climatic changes and extreme weather events. Fugro’s purpose is to Create a Safe and Liveable World, and we are uniquely placed to support coastal communities in protecting their coastlines. Our passionate people using a broad range of geotechnical, geospatial and Geo-data skills are committed to making a difference.

The CRSL will be responsible for coordinating Fugro’s efforts in this sector, tapping in to funding streams an working with NGO’s and local authorities on creating and delivering solutions to coastal resilience challenges. Working alongside the other sector leads, this is a highly collaborative role, needing a coastal resilience professional who can not only understand the various clients’ challenges, but quickly source expertise from within the Fugro group, establish capture teams and win work for Fugro.

Much of this role will be external client facing, and an existing network from the sector will be a large advantage.

Fugro aligns with the UN sustainability goals 7, 9, 11, 14 & 15 and 14, all of which relate to the deliverables of this role. Who we’re looking for:

- Masters or equivalent qualification in Hydrographic, Geo-sciences, Business, Remote Sensing, or related field of study.
- Extensive experience in supporting a wide range of multi-discipline projects including hydrographic, improving coastal resiliency, engineering design and maintenance, dredge design, living shorelines, coastal flood mapping, ecosystem restoration projects and support for climate mitigation planning.
- Demonstrated business development, project management and marketing experience, with exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, cost control, excellent team coordination and communication skills.
- Proven management skills to guide and direct diverse groups of professionals.
- Ability to collaborate across departments/ Service Lines with all levels of staff.
- Have a solid understanding with accompanying track-record of the Coastal Resilience markets. An in-depth knowledge of the challenges countries face in the near future.
- Possess the technical and commercial depth and creativity to be able to make sound decisions and to guide and direct commercial and project teams through full project lifecycles.
