Whitehaven, United Kingdom Arup Full time

A Future with purpose

At Arup we’re dedicated to sustainable development and to do socially useful work that has meaning. Our purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We solve the world's most complex problems and deliver what seems impossible. We explore challenges with curiosity and creativity - using technology, imagination and rigour to deliver remarkable outcomes.

The Opportunity

Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 3- 6 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

**Civil Engineering Technician Level 6 Apprenticeship**

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Apprentice Technician to join our Civil Engineering team. You will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes. You will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to help us deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients, as well as local authorities and many others.

There will be opportunities to work on early-stage feasibility studies through to detailed design where you will contribute to developing and analysing 3D design models to deliver successful outcomes for our clients. Furthermore, across all teams you will support a variety of work including the production of engineering drawings and sketches, virtual design reviews, preparation of engineering calculations and contributing to solutions for design challenges.

Is this role right for you

We're looking for apprentices who are curious and ready to evolve how they think and work.

Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective - in which we encourage individuality to thrive. If you can share your knowledge and ideas and encourage others to do the same; whilst having a desire to deliver excellent services for clients - we'd like to hear from you.

You should be able to start this opportunity no later than September 2024.

What we offer you

At Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together.

Guided by our values, we provide an attractive total reward package that recognises the contribution of each of our members to our shared success. As well as competitive, fair and equitable pay, we offer a career in which all of our members can belong, grow and thrive - through benefits that support health and wellbeing, a wide range of learning opportunities and many possibilities to have an impact through the work they do.

We are owned in trust on behalf of our members, giving us the freedom, with personal responsibility, to set our own direction and choose work that aligns with our purpose and adds to Arup’s legacy. Our members collaborate on ambitious projects to deliver remarkable outcomes for our clients and communities. Profit Share is a key part of our reward, enabling permanent members to share in the results of our collective efforts.

We also provide for our permanent members Private medical insurance, Life assurance, Accident insurance and Income protection cover. In addition, you’ll have access to flexible benefits to help you look after all aspects of your wellbeing and give you the freedom and flexibility to find the best solutions for you, your family, and your individual needs.
