**About the role**:
In this role you will work as part of a business support team in a directorate that focuses on making the city a vibrant place where people want to live, visit and do business. The directorate plan provides an overview of the mission and objectives of the services you'll work in.

This role acts as a key link between senior managers and staff in each service, ensuring that administrative and planning tasks, such as diary management, communication monitoring, and meeting support are well-organised and run smoothly. You'll also be the first point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders, often handling complex, confidential, and sensitive information as issues arise.

As well as the experience, skills and knowledge outlined in the person specification you should be able to demonstrate the following:

- positive, resilient and proactive in your approach to work,
- highly organised with an excellent attention to detail,
- an excellent communicator, both in writing and over the telephone,
- computer literate in a range of Microsoft Office packages,
- able to work confidently to ensure deadlines are met,
- able to exercise confidentiality, tact and diplomacy in dealings with external stakeholders, senior officers, service users and staff, at times involving complex matters,
- able to use your own initiative, knowledge, and experience to arrive at appropriate solutions to problems.

**Additional information**:
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
