KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & MEASURES:

- Work alongside the Senior Designer to deliver the global product direction
- Support the Senior Designer with the co-ordination of day-to-day activities
- Support the Senior Designer in producing high standard of CADs, Tech packs via PLM (PLM training available if required) at the right time to meet Critical Paths, and support all Designers and T departments as needed
- Support the Senior Designer to deliver Design Briefs
- Support effective working relationships with our Sourcing Office teams and Suppliers
- Research global retail and trends and identify and communicate key opportunities
- Assist in creating design boards, design publications and design DPS presentations
- Drive Product development across Collection & Branded Knitwear, taking ownership of specific ranges and attending relevant meetings
- Manage the diary to meet critical path dates
- Understand the Knitwear department/International strategy and their role in how it can be achieved
- Understand the sales/profit targets and range ranking/pareto analysis for the Knitwear department
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Core/Target customer
- Carry out inspirational and comparative shopping with support, and regularly review competitor ranges and identify potential opportunities
- Demonstrate understanding of product legislation and an awareness of how to keep the design of a product legal

KEY SKILLS:

- Extensive knowledge and experience of Knitwear design, including shape, structures, gauges, yarn research & development, colour & pattern, garment construction, product development, product research, garment fit & finish (eLearning available and encouraged)
- Strong design and CAD skills with an eye for detail
- Knowledge of Trend interpretation, current competitive marketplace, and product design, regularly monitor competitor activity and report relevant information
- Experience in direct design sourced product, working with Design/Technology and Buying to create high standards of CAD and Tech packs via PLM
- High level of technical proficiency and mindset in Design related software to include Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design and Adobe. Knowledge and experience of Apex 3 would be a bonus
- Multitask orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path
- Strong communication and influencing skills

TOP 5 SKILLS:

- Extensive knowledge and experience of Knitwear design, including shape, structures, gauges, yarn research & development, colour & pattern, garment construction, product development, product research, garment fit & finish
- High level of technical proficiency and mindset in Design related software to include Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design and Adobe. Knowledge and experience of Apex 3 would be a bonus
- They should demonstrate a great eye for style and trend and a knowledge of key knitwear competitors within the marketplace, together with aspirational brands
- Strong communication and influencing skills and a great team player
