**Finance Assistant**

**Letchworth Garden City**

**£28,000 - 30,000**

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant is responsible for supporting the UK finance function in maintaining accurate records of the financial position and performance for the Group.

The Finance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring key financial duties are performed efficiently & accurately including the credit control, purchase ledger, reconciliation of balance sheets including accruals and prepayments, and the processing & payment of employee payments.

This is a great opportunity for an AAT studier or recent graduate to develop their finance career within a busy department on behalf of a global business with high growth aspirations.

Full training and development will be offered to include study support where required, after probation.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Credit Control
- Purchase ledger
- Processing of expense claims and payments
- Reporting and analysis of expenses and that robust expense policy is adhered to.
- Management of company credit cards
- Assist the team and budget holders with finance-related queries.
- Month end procedures, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Management of holiday/sickness systems
- Liaise effectively with other departments to acquire relevant information.
- Develop a thorough familiarity with financial reporting systems and procedures.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and contribute towards a culture of continuous improvement.
- Assist in other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
- Support commercial team with company vehicle management.

**Skills & experience**
- Experience of working in a Finance Team preferred.
- Experience of finance management systems - not essential.
- Possess a logical and analytical approach, with excellent attention to detail and a good level of numeracy and IT skills (Strong MS Excel is essential)
- Strong organisational and time management capabilities
- Exceptional customer service skills alongside strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to and build positive relationships at all levels

This is a permanent role of 37.5hrs/week between Monday and Friday and will operate predominantly from the head office in Letchworth, with some opportunity to work remotely.
