SYST is a charity that runs enterprise Centres and Hubs, delivering workshops, clinics, mentoring and coaching for disadvantaged people in Shropshire and the Marches areas.

We have a particular focus on Young People and people with Multiple & Complex needs such as; Mental health challenges, NEETS, offending behaviours, young parents, unemployment and social exclusion, in various aspects of self-employment and employment, to utilise their talents and potential so they can effectively run a profitable and viable business or gain employability skills and secure sustained employment.

We have helped to create over 200 new jobs in supporting the start of over 170 new businesses, through our ASYSTED Business support programme.

**Purpose of the Role**

This role has been created due to successfully securing a 2-year project from NCS (National Citizen Service). The project involves delivering an Engagement Gateway Project solely for 16-17-year-olds for two years, to enable us to reach, engage and empower disengaged young people.

There are currently over 350 16-17-year-olds (per year) within Telford & Wrekin who are classed as NEET/risk of becoming NEET and this project will directly ENGAGE these young people.

The young people we support face the challenges of unemployment and mental health issues, but also face additional barriers such as, physical health conditions, experience of homelessness or the care system, experience of offending, addiction and in most cases, multiple barriers. Our job is to inspire and support young people, to help them reach their potential so that they can thrive, and our community can prosper.

We believe all young people should have the chance to be listened too and to succeed, and that young people are the key to a positive future for us all.

Each young person will participate in 3 experiences through 1:1 personal coaching, group sessions and workshops/modules. The project will deliver a range of engaging, fun, supportive and empowering experiences, designed to inspire and inform enabling the young people to explore and access a range of experiences including Life & Soft Skills, Wellbeing Activities, Work Experience/Tasters, Mental Health interventions, Work Ready Skills, Practical Life Skills, volunteering Opportunities, Self-Employment Workshops and much more.

Recruiting young people onto the project, building relationships and guiding them through each experience. If you have the skills, and the passion to help young people, be their critical friend, and support them to change their lives then we would love to hear from you

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to engage in challenges with optimism and resilience and be adaptive and flexible - embracing change and innovation. As well as being confident delivering with groups face to face you must also be comfortable working virtually and delivering programmes on virtual platforms.

**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**

The principal duties and responsibilities of this role encompass tasks and activities that primarily relate to the purpose of the role and may include other duties that are supplementary to the role.
