The Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) have an exciting new opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to join the Delivery and Assurance team as a Commissioner’s Officer.

The Delivery and Assurance Team is a small team which has recently been created. Its role is to support the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner to hold the Chief Officers of North Yorkshire Police (NYP) and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS) to account for the delivery of their respective plans (Police and Crime Plan and the Fire and Rescue Plan) and will prepare and publish the annual performance report for each plan. The team is also responsible for preparing and delivering OPFCC’s Delivery Plan.

This role will allow you to engage with colleagues across North Yorkshire and our local communities by visiting and attending meetings across the area and engaging with local community groups.

**As a Commissioner’s Officer, you will**:

- Support in the development and implementation of policy focusing on national and local priorities
- Maintain policies and ensure the performance of both NYP and NYFRS continues to meet the objectives outlined in the Police and Crime plan and the Fire and Rescue plan
- Effectively support the community by responding to concerns and researching issues that arise locally, regionally and nationally
- Research and gather information to be able to effectively provide insight and recommendations on areas including policing, community safety issues and victims’ services.
- Create reports outlining information to present to senior management including the Commissioner

**To be Successful in this role, you will**:

- Be educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, where you have developed research methods, data handling, analysis and reporting skills
- Experience of varied research projects from design to completion with the use of qualitative and quantitative methods
- Be an excellent communicator, with the ability to form positive working relationships with all stakeholders and engage effectively with the public
- Demonstrate excellent IT skills
- Be highly organised, with the ability to work on multiple projects
