Due to internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity to join our adult speech and language therapy team at Weston General Hospital. We are looking to recruit a permanent full-time band 5 speech and language therapist to work in an acute inpatient setting with adults with swallowing and communication difficulties relating to neurological, general medical, and age-related conditions. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop a broad knowledge base and well-rounded skills early on in your career. We would be able to support the successful applicant through the RCSLT newly qualified practitioner framework and the RCSLT dysphagia competencies. As a teaching Trust, we are committed to developing exceptional SLTs for the future

We are part of a large team of 26 speech and language therapists within UHBW and benefit from close working with colleagues at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and St Michael's Hospital. Our teams include regional specialists in head and neck cancer, ENT conditions, oncology and haematology. We have access to both videofluoroscopy and FEES on site. We are a really friendly team with a focus on providing excellent evidence-based care for our patients.

To provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment to adults with communication and/or swallowing problems

To work with the support and supervision of more senior colleagues

To manage own time and caseload with support as required

To participate in peer group supervision and regular clinical supervision

To participate in in-service training

To work two bank holidays per year
