**Join our Homeless Prevention team as a Support Officer**:
Our Homeless prevention sits at the heart of our vision to provide places to call home, with an aim to deliver 5000 homes over ten years. We are responsible for the acquisition, delivery and sales of new-build properties across London and the South East.

**The role**
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Support Officer.
At Arlington, we have 95 homeless residents staying with us at any one time.
All our supported customers are referred to us by Camden Council through their hostel pathway service. They can stay with us for up to two years.
We support our vulnerable adults who are homeless achieve and maintain independence.
We offer them on-going support which enables them to build confidence, resilience and access training and employment opportunities.
Our support team provides support to Arlington residents who have varying needs due to their history of being homeless or sleeping rough.
This can include:
- mental health support needs,
- substance dependency,
- and physical health needs.
**Location**: Camden, London
**Salary**: £26,037 per annum
**Hours**: 37.5 hrs a week, rolling rota, early and late shifts, every other weekend.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Comply with all relevant policies & procedures, including but not limited to: Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Customer Care, Equality & Diversity, the Code of Conduct etc.
- Carry out assessment to identify and prioritise needs
- Use SMART goal planning to provide needs led holistic support
- Develop and maintain positive links with key stakeholders
- Be there to empower and teach/show how to cook, maintain personal hygiene, budget, doing laundry etc
- Participating in activities that promote independent living, and access to training, education and work
- Key work sessions
- Create an environment that promotes opportunities for customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence
**What you will need to succeed**
We are looking for someone who believes in working together as part of a team, who shares our values and who is positive and friendly.
- Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable adults
- Have experience of undertaking customer assessments, support planning and key-working with a clear outcome focus
- Have Experience of promoting Equality & Diversity
- Possess strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Have the ability to communicate effectively in writing including the preparation of letters reports & file notes
- Have the ability to contribute to effective team working
- Possess IT skills including use of Microsoft packages such as Word
