We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join our Credit Control Team to ensure sales are turned into cash as quickly as possible and minimise the business’ risk to bad debt.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Debt Management**
- Pro-active debt management throughout the month for all customers in NI and Donegal area, to ensure their exposure is in line with credit limits/terms.
- Providing risk assessments and credit checks for all new customers
- Liaising with solicitors and sale staff to recover bad debts
- Manage order release in line with company deadlines and with customer credit terms

**Customer Management**
- Capturing and quickly actioning customer complaints and issues
- Management of customer database
- Advising customers/BDM’s on best payment options for large one-off orders

**Experience**
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a credit control role in a similar size organisation.
- Understanding of pursuing debt collection through the legal systems (solicitors/courts)
- Understanding of dealing with liquidations/bankruptcy/receiverships etc.

**Quality of Work**
- The ability to work at a pace that matches the requirements of this fast-moving business and recognise the importance of meeting deadlines
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Arranges work schedules and prioritises work to meet deadlines
- Computer literate, logical and methodical approach to work
- A high standard of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail

**Teamwork**
- The ability to work in team as well as individually
- A willingness to work extra hours or assist in other areas outside role

**Communication Skills**
- Calm, level headed approach to dealing with difficult situations with customers
- Able to convey confidence, authority, and persistence with all levels of staff working for the customer
- Ability to listen and quickly understand information
- Presents information in a clear and concise manner
- Can change communication style for different types of customer and different types of situation.
- Ability to negotiate in a variety of situations
