**Slitter Operator**

**Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum**

**Hours**: 7am - 4:15pm Monday - Thursday (7:30am - 1pm Friday)

**Comton Group are pleased to be recruiting for a Slitter Operator** **on behalf of our International client in Witton, West Midlands.**

We are looking for a Slitter Operator to be based at our coil processing site. You will be responsible for running the slitting machine line, maneuvering material around the workplace, and loading and unloading machinery.

**Your main duties will be**:

- Operating overhead cranes to handle steel
- Operating counterbalance forklift trucks
- Training to run the slitting line
- Handling steel including coil and sheet
- Loading and unloading vehicles for dispatch
- Banding up and packing processed steel

**Your profile**

**Essential experience, skills and knowledge**:

- Experience cutting metal
- Forklift truck licence

**Desirable experience, skills and knowledge**:

- Overhead crane licence
- Counterbalance forklift truck licence
- Experience setting machine lines such as slitters, blanking lines, de-coilers, guillotines etc.
