Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team. As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide high quality care, adhering to the quality standards and holistically & therapeutically support the children & young people within our home. Your role will involve leading shifts and supervising daily activities, ensuring the well-being of our children and young people, and maintaining effective communication with the care team and the relevant professionals and team around the child

**Responsibilities**:

- To Lead daily shift, ensuring safeguarding and competency of staff to manage their delegated tasks and raise any areas of concern or reflection directly to your line manager.
- Provide support and supervision to staff members on shift, leading and guiding them according to the children and young people's care plans and the company policies & procedures.
- Provide direct care and support to our children & Young people in accordance with their individual care plans & risk assessment management plans.
- Advocate for our children's rights UNCRC and ensure that they are receiving the best quality care we can provide.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Report and record our children and young peoples day to day activities, report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel, update all relevant reports.
- Assist with meal as needed
- Engage residents in recreational activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement care plans
- Provide emotional support to children and their families where appropriate

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of senior care practices and procedures is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient in using basic IT systems for documentation purposes
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to take initiative

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- working in residential child care: 1 year (preferred)
- supervisory: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 / 5 Health & Social Care (preferred)
