The role is part of the EMEA Risk & Compliance Department and is responsible for delivery of all aspects of the Compliance function for all of the businesses European regulated entities.

Reporting to the global Director of Legal, Risk & Compliance, you will lead a team of Risk and Compliance professionals and be responsible for ensuring the team provide an independent, commercial assessment of risks, and assist the business to ensure adequateand effective controls are implemented.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
- Lead a team of Compliance and Risk experts to ensure there is a strong working relationships across the business with an emphasis on providing pragmatic, timely advice.
- Adopt the SMF16 role for our FCA authorised firms
- Maintain strong relationships with our external compliance providers
- Assume responsibility for the European Risk and Compliance function, and update stakeholders on key compliance matters and emerging risks.
- Drive the development and implementation of the Group risk management frameworks, policies, standards, processes and procedures.
- Promote a sustainable culture of risk awareness
- Identify, analyse and assess proposals for newly identified risks
- Actively collaborate with peers to further develop a leading Risk and Compliance function.
- Practicable and demonstrated experience within the financial services industry in Europe.
- Demonstrable experience with risk management frameworks, especially in respect to operational risk management, governance and reporting within the UK financial services industry.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
- Stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading a small team, building capability within that team and positioning the function as being a trusted and valued advisor to the business.
- Knowledge and experience within a regulatory environment, including a sound understanding of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
- Deep understanding and working knowledge of the regulatory framework (desirable, but not essential, to have a good working knowledge of key legislation relevant to the share registry and share plans business in UK and Europe).
