**The Opportunity**

This is a newly created opportunity to expand the current team of Category Buyers who provide procurement support and report to the Senior Category manager. Working as a team of 4 this role will be responsible for ensuring our £1.4bn annual spend across 4500 suppliers is managed effectively across all categories that are fulfilled by AI UK

You’ll be working in close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the proactive and effective end-to-end management of all Procurement and commercial requirements for the categories.

**Key responsibilities**
- Control the issuing of Purchase Orders, reviewing requisitions against standard rules, driving continuous improvement in line item data accuracy and coding.
- Management of regional tender activity in a timely manner.
- Management of supplier catalogues in conjunction with AI Group Procurement ensuring all catalogue content is correct and covers required spend areas
- Centralisation and management of all AI contracts outside of national contracts.
- Monthly reporting, record key activities and financial benefits that support the procurement roadmap.
- Achieve strong, collaborative, and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- Identify all opportunities to progressively rationalise and reduce the total number of suppliers to an optimum level.

**Who are you?**

We are looking for a driven and ambitious individual who is keen to develop and grow their career, learning from experienced colleagues whilst in the role. If you have experience in the construction industry, that would be a bonus, but ideally you are working with commercial contracts and used to supporting cross-functional teams.

You'll have some category management experience in setting strategic plans with an ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and projects effectively and efficiently without compromising quality.

With an ability to manage the end to end tender process, you’ll have experience drafting tender documentation and of drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions and also the development of performance metrics (SLA’s and KPI’s).

We’re looking for someone who is proactive and self motivated with strong networking and relationship building skills developed within a large, complex, matrix organisation across multiple sites.

Due to the nature of the role it is key that you exhibit a high degree of resilience alongside your strong negotiation and influencing skills and your desire to deliver results.

Additional project management experience and knowledge of E1, Coupa and SAP systems would be advantageous.
