Job Title: Nursing Home General Assistant

Location: Waterlooville

Employment Type: Full-time

Hours: 36 hours per week

**Salary**: £10.46 per hour

**Responsibilities**:
Provide general assistance and support to residents in a nursing home setting.

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.

Support the nursing staff in delivering high-quality care to residents.

Help with meal preparation, serving, and feeding of residents, ensuring they receive appropriate nutrition.

Monitor and record residents' vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing team.

Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, ensuring that communal areas and residents' rooms are well-maintained and tidy.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for residents.

Assist with recreational activities for residents, providing companionship and engaging them in social interactions.

Respond to residents' requests for assistance promptly and respectfully, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Uphold the confidentiality and privacy of residents' information in accordance with relevant policies and regulations.

**Requirements**:
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or nursing home environment.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.

Compassion and empathy towards the elderly, with the ability to provide person-centered care.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.

Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

**Salary**: £8.23-£14.23 per hour
