As Senior Agent in the Sherborne & Beaminster Agency you’ll have the opportunity to run and develop an existing business in partnership with an Agent in the NFU Mutual Agency network.

Highly respected within the local farming community, our Sherborne & Beaminster Agency provides a solid foundation for you to build on. Well known locally, with a branch in both Sherborne and Beaminster, the agency team has a large and loyal customer base, providing services to an attractive mix of farming, rural and agricultural-related businesses.

Building on the success of the agency you’ll have the opportunity to nurture existing customer relationships whilst driving new business growth across the local farming community and wider markets. In addition, you’ll be joining an active and loyal NFU branch where you’ll find plenty of growth potential and will further strengthen the bond and elevate your standing in the local community.

**About You**:
Ready to be your own boss, you relish the opportunity to create business plans and implement strategies that provide a professional and personal service to a range of customers, from high-net worth clients to farmers and agricultural related businesses.

A strategic and commercially-astute leader, you know how to structure a business and optimise operations to drive sustainable, profitable growth.

Collaborative, positive and supportive, you know how to recruit, reward and develop a strong team to help drive growth whilst ensuring all relevant regulations and standards of compliance are met.

A strong link to the local farming community or related agricultural industries is required due to the agency being situated in a heavily rural and thriving farming community within Dorset.

**NFU Senior Group Secretary**:
For more than 110 years, the NFU and NFU Mutual have enjoyed a close relationship, working together to provide a first-class service to the farming and wider rural community.

Combining your duties as a Group Secretary with your work as an Agent of NFU Mutual, you’ll have the chance to identify and capitalise on opportunities for new business and introduce what the NFU and NFU Mutual have to offer to a wider audience. The roles are intrinsically linked.

As an NFU Group Secretary, you will be placed at the heart of the local farming and business community. This will enable you to make meaningful, profitable connections with farmers, growers, and the rural community at large, with a focus on growing NFU membership alongside growing your NFU Mutual agency. By developing these strong relationships, you’ll be representing and supporting rural people, sharing expertise, standing up for the countryside and playing a valuable part in sustaining the UK’s agricultural industry.
