- Employers contributory pension schemeMAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE- To support staff and Foster Parents to ensure a good quality child focused service that promotes the wellbeing and positive outcomes for children and young peoplewho are cared for by our service. To provide high quality line manager support to a team of Link Workers, ensuring that effective best practice supervision is always provided, ensuring staff are well supported and trained and have opportunities for professionaldevelopment. - To ensure that children who use our service are supported to be happy, healthy and safe. They know and understand what care, support and opportunities are available to them. Their rights are protected, they have a voice, and as far as practicablecontrol in making decisions about their lives. - To ensure that the high standards of the service are met, ensuring compliance with regulations and the agency's policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESPractice and Standards
- Ensure that the welfareof children placed, or to be placed, with Foster Parents is safeguarded and always promoted to the highest standard and comply with and exceed all regulatory requirements. To ensure supervision records are through in their content and include discussionsabout the foster parents and the children placed with them, on each member of staff's caseload. - To model and to encourage the highest levels of practice, ensuring that Family Fostering Partners delivers the best standard of care possible to children andyoung people living in our foster homes
- To maintain agency standards for the supervision and management of Foster Parents, ensuring that all foster homes provided to children and young people are safe, nurturing, and robust. To comply with the agency's standardsand expectations around the induction, probation, supervision, and appraisal arrangements for staff, - Ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures and directives. - To quality assure Staff records and those of Foster Parents - To facilitate Link Workerpractice and reflection meetings
- To ensure there is good communication with stakeholders and our local authority customers - To put into operation, manage, and review staff development plans and performance review plans where appropriate. Co-ordinate andfacilitate Parent and Child Placement reviews and oversee the support of these placements. - To work with the Reviewing Officer to ensure compliance with the services review procedures. To ensure the proper implementation of Family Fostering Partners ChildProtection Procedures and that any safeguarding issues are reported immediately. If required, in conjunction with the Head of Fostering and other Managers, to help develop and coordinate training opportunities for Foster Parents and staff, and to align thesewith Foster Parent and staff development programmes. To act on complaints, as specified within the Complaints and Representation Policy. To attend team meetings and management meetings.Matching and Placement Support
- To ensure that the importance of detailedplacement matching is understood by staff and that children's needs are prioritized when making matches. Obtaining contractual paperwork and documentation from placing Local Authorities in good time, and implementing procedures to chase these where necessary-Ensuring Safe Care and Risk Assessment and Behaviour Plans are in place, and that these remain living documents which are reviewed and evolve with the child or young persons needs. - To ensure that the supervision and review of Foster Parents, and the supportof children in placement is delivered in line with policy and procedures, and to the highest standards. Facilitate stability meetings, and where required ensure robust support plans are in place. Liaise with Clinical Psychologist aligned to FFP in regardto Foster Parent therapeutic support - Ensure that children and young people are consulted and actively participate in their care. Ensure that 'children who foster' are supported and consulted. To ensure that Family Fostering Partners Policies, Proceduresand Guidance are implemented and adhered to in a consistent manner. To take part in the management back up system for 'Out of Hours' cover.Family Fostering Partners Panel - To attend Family Fostering Partners Panel as required Business Performance and Growth-To support as required Family Fostering Partners recruitment and preparation of foster parents. - External stakeholders - To develop and maintain close collaborative links with Local Authority customers. To undertake any other duties which Family FosteringPartners may require within the context of the Fostering Manager's role.
