**Finance Assistant**

**Inverness - Hybrid**

**Between £22,000 to £25,000 per annum**

Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant who will be responsible for the control of expenditure and invoicing of contract income, supporting a first-rate financial control environment. The important aspect of the role is to provide assistance to the Finance Business Partner and Finance Director in all aspects of financial and management accounting for the Serco Caledonian Sleepers business.

**As part of this you’ll**:

- To assist the Finance Business Partner during month end processes by preparing reconciliations
- Participation in the Purchase to Pay process, raising company purchase orders and maintaining the PO log
- Payroll validation and processing support.
- Administration of data input for SAP financial processes
- To raise customer invoices in SAP for third party work and overview the invoicing and debt collection processing
- To provide general accounting and administration assistance within the Finance Department and being a point of contact for queries on Finance matters
- Making company credit card purchases and preparing reconciliations
- To assist the Finance Business Partner in developing financial forecasts and annual business plan.
- To assist staff with SAP queries, liaise with Managers regarding Open Purchase Orders, Blocked invoices, miscoding of costs
- Assist in the achievement of appropriate objectives from the Annual Safety Plan, and to help ensure compliance with the Serco Management System.

**What you’ll need to do the role**:

- Experience of working within a Finance department is essential. Previous experience of data processing and reconciliations would be an advantage
- Attention to detail with accuracy of financial data being key
- Works in a structured and methodical manner, deadline driven
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products.
