**What We Are Looking For...**:
The Senior Womenswear Wholesale Buyer reports to the Wholesale Head of Buying, executing the divisional and partner strategy. Responsibilities include range building, selling into wholesale partners, presentation, and trading for commission/market place partners. This position serves as the primary contact for internal River Island B&M teams, collaborating with Buying & Merchandising teams to inform pre-season buys, in-season trade, and key risk and opportunity messages. The role involves working with Partner Brands to achieve key KPIs set with the Senior Merchandiser.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Curate commercially balanced ranges, aligned with topline strategy to meet and exceed the 3rd Party financial plan
- Act as the River Island brand representative to brand partners, leading 3rd party buying teams in selection meetings to ensure the brand's DNA and product strategy are maintained
- Identify and implement Partner & consumer-led opportunities for growth, sharing insights with the core buying team to capitalize on potential opportunities
- Analyse trading patterns and trends in-season, maximizing opportunities
- Attend key B&M pre-season strategy and commercial sign-off meetings, ensuring Wholesale's requirements are considered
- Support the Head of Buying Wholesale in forming and delivering the planning and trading strategy for the division, contributing to the overall Wholesale P&L
- Own the B2B platform/Virtual Showroom (NuOrder) for the division, managing partner orders from inception to delivery
- Lead and develop the 3rd party buying team, providing direction, setting objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Identify and nurture talent, offering learning and development opportunities through coaching and mentoring.
- Challenge company working practices to improve efficiency
- Foster a culture of wellbeing and inclusion through openness and two-way communication
- Experience in range building is key
- Fast fashion experience alongside traditional wholesale experience is ideal
- Previous core experience preferred - understanding of critical path and core ways of working
- Team and people management experience
- Experience working/communicating with Partner/Brands a bonus
- Managing OTB/ Partner Spends - working closely with WW Senior Merchandiser
- Working closely with core Buying Teams - influencing decision making and gathering the information required
- Understanding of Partner customers - ability to gain understanding through open communication with partners, comp shops, market research etc
- Tailoring ranges and approaches to service a broad customer base
- Account management of Wholesale accounts - working closely with Brand Buyers to align on key investments and season must haves
- Strong product background with a solid understanding of the womenswear critical path and buying process
- Proven results in delivering & exceeding seasonal plans
- Confidence and experience in building relationships with key stakeholders
- Understanding of omni-channel retail is highly desirable
- Ability to navigate complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems effectively
- Ability to collaborate and influence for profitable results
- Previous experience with NuOrder or a similar B2B platform is preferred but not essential
- Track record of driving strong team and individual performance and engagement
