We are excited to offer the opportunity to bring on board a Junior Designer. As a digital team we are continuing to expand our growing team.

As a junior designer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop the best way for users to interact with our digital services, in terms of both overall flow and at the level of individual design elements. You will have an inclusive, user-centred approach and enjoy adapting and learning at pace. You will work independently after being given direction, and will have the ability to identify user issues and important needs.

2. Communicating with others with the ability to translate technical information to both technical and none-technical stakeholders about user needs, research recommendations, design decisions and prototypes.
3. Collaborating and contributing to the wider community to both motivate and empower colleagues, creating a productive environment.
4. A good digital perspective, able to respond to changes in technology which may impact designs, adapting your approach accordingly.
5. Evidence and context-based design with the ability to generate multiple solutions to a problem from user research, including prototypes along with facilitating testing.
6. Understanding relevant policy, legislative, regulatory, and operational constraints to find the simplest, shortest, and fastest solution that meets these requirements for users.
7. Understanding the importance of team dynamics and collaboration for good user-centred design, and can receive and deliver feedback appropriately.
8. Prototyping in code, writing in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, while using appropriate Government and other design systems.
9. Using specific prototyping techniques and methods, such as coded prototypes or low-fidelity wireframes, based on strengths and suitability.
10. Supporting strategic planning in an administrative capacity.
11. Using quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.

**In this role, you are accountable for**:

You facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary team, with potentially difficult dynamics where the audience may be not familiar with user-centred design. You act as an advocate for your team and the user-centred design community. You are good at managing differing perspectives on designs, research and delivery of products and services.
3. Community collaboration - you contribute to the work of others and motivate and empower colleagues. You create a productive environment for colleagues to work in. You recognise and deal with issues about design and research

You recommend design decisions and describe the reasoning behind these. You identify and articulate design disputes between direct peers and local stakeholders.
