As a Data Quality Officer, you will be responsible for implementing regular and rigorous data quality testing, monitoring, and cleansing operations across our systems. You will also assist in implementing long-term solutions to identified data issues to ensure complete, timely, accurate data that is fit for strategic decision-making, operational reporting, and statutory returns.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also provide support, guidance, and training for staff to improve the accuracy and validity of our data. This will help us to ensure compliance with GDPR regulations, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services we provide to our customers, and enable insight-led decision making.

Monitoring data integrity issues and working alongside the Data Governance Officer and business stakeholders will be an essential aspect of your role. Together, you will identify areas for process improvements, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

A typical day at work will involve a variety of tasks and responsibilities, which may include:

- Testing reports to ensure consistency and validity
- Liaising with the Data Governance officer to troubleshoot data quality issues
- Updating process, procedure and change logs
- Providing training and support to colleagues to help them on their data quality improvement journey

You will have a passion for data and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be comfortable working with colleagues across the organisation and have excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

**Essential and Desirable Criteria**

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:

- Be good with numbers and have strong analytical skills.
- Be detail oriented.
- Be highly organised and able to manage your workload effectively.
- Communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
- Possess a good understanding of the tools and techniques used to monitor data quality within a complex organization.
- Understand data analysis tools and techniques with the ability to deal with and interpret large volumes of data.
- Have a good understanding of data flow modelling and database development standards.
