- United Kingdom**Equans is looking for a Stores Operative to join our team in Wakefield for our Pinderfield & Pontefract Hospital contract on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.**
**JOB PURPOSE**: To control and manage the receipt and distribution of all goods from Central Store to designated area.
**JOB SUMMARY**: To provide a customer focused, Stock Management service that ensures customers maintain optimum stock level at all times to meet their needs. This requires co-ordinating a team within the Central Store, prioritising work loads and expediting stock to meet demands.
**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. To self-monitor the Stock Management Services against the contractual obligations.
2. To ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved and maintained in line with the contract, ensuring all necessary documentation associated with KPI reporting is completed
3. To ensure compliance in relation to Company Procedures for Health, Safety and Environment, Service Delivery, Quality, Finance and HR.
4. Support the implementation operational policies and procedures in line with Contract obligations.
5. To ensure the protection of EQUANs property against damage, loss, theft and waste.
6. To ensure the effective receipt and storage of materials into Central Store, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and controlled.
7. To investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies.
8. On occasion, to operate Forklift and motorised Tugs. (authorised drivers only)
9. To ensure compliance with Quality Standards
**Training and Education**
1. To provide technical and Health and Safety Training to staff as part of the induction process, assessing and monitoring employee skills on an ongoing basis.
2. To identify team and individual training needs and ensure continuous development of staff through staff appraisals and performance reviews.
3. To ensure staff are trained to operate Forklifts and/or motorized Tugs where appropriate.
**Resources and Finance**
1. To review budget costs for labour and materials with the Technical Services Manager on a weekly basis.
2. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is properly stored, maintained and used by staff.
**Staffing**
1. To be an integral member of a professional Stock Management team providing direction to the site team on a day to day basis.
2. To ensure staff understand and acknowledge team and personal performance expectations under the Contract.
3. To be responsible for ensuring Return to Work Interviews are carried out with all staff and liaising with HR in managing attendance levels for the section.
4. To support the development and implementation of Multi-skilling and Skillsbadge for operative staff.
**Planning and Policy**
1. Support the site teams in the planning and implementation of change to improve the service and operational quality.
2. Assist in the planning, delivery and review of all aspects relating to the provision of Stock Management Services, driving efficiency and processing improvement.
3. To resolve issues in a pro-active manner, using initiative and judgement to ensure a high quality, focused service that is responsive to the needs of all users.
4. In conjunction with the Facilities Services Manager, to take appropriate corrective action to ensure standards of performance are maintained.
5. Responsible for ensuring Company Policies are implemented and adhered.
6. To be responsible for on-going monitoring to ensure that programmes of a continuous service improvements are delivered, suggesting areas where efficiency could be improved.
7. To make regular judgements of a routine noncomplex nature, of operational procedures with health and safety requirements.
8. To work with the site team to contribute to changes in and implementation of practices within Stock Management Services.
9. To co-ordinate, prioritise and delegate activities as appropriate.
**Communication**
1. Liaise with wards/departments and develop good customer relations to ensure effective service delivery.
2. To ensure Team Briefs/Connect Briefs are cascaded to all staff to improve internal communications, the flow of information and staff feedback.
3. To provide reports as directed by your nominated line manager on key operational activities and developments.
4. To ensure staff are informed about the service they provide and about service developments and changes.
