**Location**:Ripon Household Waste Recycling Centre

Yorwaste are seeking an Operative to lead our teams in safely and effectively managing our sites across North Yorkshire. Our locations in Ripon and Northallerton operate six days a week (closed on Wednesdays), providing essential services to the local communities.

In this role, you will lead and motivate your team to maximise the quality and quantity of materials separated for recycling. You will plan and organise site activities, manage staff responsibilities, and represent Yorwaste to on-site visitors. Additionally, you will deputise for the Area Supervisor when necessary.

Strong communication skills and a positive, encouraging leadership approach are essential. Proficiency in IT systems and familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook and Word, are required.

As a Yorwaste Operative Team Leader, your daily responsibilities may include:

- Assisting the public in safely using the site and adhering to Health and Safety guidelines.
- Providing friendly, informative, and professional customer service.
- Promoting high standards of health and safety for yourself and your team.
- Operating equipment and machinery safely and reporting any issues.
- Working with commercial traders, offering advice and handling payments.
- Reporting unauthorised waste deposits and promoting environmental sustainability.
- Supporting other HWRC teams across North Yorkshire as needed.

We require you to have the ability to reliably travel to our site, as well as other sites if required, which are not accessible by public transport, and access to personal transport would be advantageous.

Working in an outdoor setting, you will be equipped with appropriate outerwear to ensure your safety and comfort on-site.
