**Team Leader / LSCA Support Lead**

The Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist College in Godstone, Surrey. We focus on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and make dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.

Set up by musician and songwriter Sir Richard Stilgoe, Orpheus offers learning, supported housing and personal care all on the same site in Godstone, Surrey. We showcase what Orpheus students can offer in the workplace and we challenge the barriers to employment faced by some disabled people.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, skilled and experienced **Team Leader** to line manage support staff and oversee the smooth running of the team, in and out of the classroom at our SEN College.

**35 hours a week / 44 weeks per year. Following a two-week rota system incorporating early and late shift patterns including some weekend working.**

**Please note that this is a term time only contract for 44 weeks a year, 38 of which are term weeks, plus 6 weeks of admin, rehearsals, training - to be worked as required by the organisation**

**Salary: £27,052.95 per annum pro rata**

**Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience**:

- Good level of Maths, English
- A minimum of two years’ experience of working with young people or adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- Experienced in providing personal care for individuals
- Have an understanding of the range of different types of learning difficulties and disabilities
- Willingness to maintain and update personal specialist skills and knowledge through engaging with appropriate professional development activities and training
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with personal care and medical needs
- Good computer and IT skills are essential for this role
- Good administrative skills
- Innovative and creative
- Sense of humour
- Caring and patient attitude
- Excellent people skills
- Ability to work well in a team and foster good relationships within a multidisciplinary work force.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other professionals, colleagues, students and families/carers.
