An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietitian with an interest in gastroenterology surgery to join the dietetic team at Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, based at Leighton Hospital, as a full time Band 6 dietitian working in surgery
The post holder will be a key member of the surgical dietetic team, providing a specialist dietetic service to complex gastrointestinal surgical patients. The post holder will enjoy close working relationships with the surgical multidisciplinary team and will be actively involved in the enhanced recovery after surgery pathways. The surgical dietitians cover a surgical dietetic outpatient clinic supporting a wide range of patients allowing us to see patients pre and post surgery for timely nutritional intervention.
The service places a strong emphasis on clinical and peer support and supervision and has a well-established program facilitating the training of dietetic students on clinical placements
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.
The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.
To deliver specialist dietetic services to adult patients, with responsibility primarily for the Surgical specialist areas across Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust, as part of the Acute Adult Dietetic Team.
To formulate, deliver and monitor nutritional care plans for referred patients. This would include highly complex clinical conditions and diet therapy, across the surgical /gastroenterology wards and outpatient clinics
To be recognised as an expert source of knowledge in the field of surgical/gastroenterology nutrition, contributing to development of clinical guidelines, resources and education packages
