**The Role**
This post is commissioned and funded by the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT), established in Los Angeles and now expanding into Oxford.

EIT is expanding upon its existing collaborations with the University of Oxford by building a 320,000 square feet research institute and medical clinic in the nearby Oxford Science Park. In addition to this investment, EIT will fund approximately 20 scholarships each year for the world's best global innovators, offering fully-funded study at the University of Oxford, and cutting-edge programming and innovation opportunities with world experts in Oxford, LA and beyond.

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for content development and online platforms to ensure brand consistency and clear coordinated messaging, to a high end and finish. They will generate effective internal and external communication strategies through digital, print and social media.

This role provides a unique opportunity to support communication efforts at EIT Oxford, cross functionally within the organisation - from Ellison Scholars programme, the the Institutes's operations and research, and the patient treatment centre.

Hours of work will generally be Monday to Friday, core hours 08:30-17:30 and will be office/site based. However due to the nature of the role and organisation there may be times where flexibility is required during the evening and occasionally weekends to accommodate interaction with EIT Los Angeles and also on international recruitment campaigns managed by Oxford.

**Responsibilities**

May include some or all the following responsibilities:

- Website-Maintain, update and maximise the EIT Oxford and Ellison Scholars webpages, layout, design and user experience.
- Social Media-Graphic design, compose and schedule posts on EIT Oxford channels [X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook] manage and optimise EIT Oxford's content calendar.
- Printed Materials-Research and write engaging content for EIT's internal newsletter and other publications [e.g. Ellison Scholars student handbook, posters, annual impact report, brochures] and support with design and layout.
- Digital Assets-Develop and curate digital signage and presentation decks as required.
- Daily Support-general communications tasks including but not limited to coordinating with suppliers print/production planning, stakeholder sign off processes, website updates, developing and protecting a consistent brand.
- Provide operation and administrative support to the Communications Manager to ensure communications are delivered on time, on budget and to an excellent standard.

**Person Specification**

**Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- A track record of producing creative and engaging digital communications to a high standard and finish.
- Experience coordinating complex communications projects involving multiple stakeholders, delivering materials to a set brief and deadline.
- Exceptional oral communication and presentation skills.
- Organised, reliable and detail orientated.
- Strong creative thinking abilities and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation and develop strong professional relationships externally.

**Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- At least three years' experience in a design communications role with an international audience.
- Skilled in the following:video production and editing skills, podcasting, SEO, website content management systems, Google Analytics.
- Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment, able to work with changing requirements

**Terms of Appointment**
- You must be eligible to work in the UK with a willingness to travel as necessary.
- You must be based in, or within easy commuting distance of, Oxford.
- During peak periods, some longer hours may be required and some working across multiple time zones due to the global nature of the programme.
