**Securitas **is recruiting a **Response **Officer **to provide support to the **Visitor Services **and Security department at the National Gallery site. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and protection of the artwork, the building, and its occupants. You will be committed to providing a high degree of security, in a front-of-house function.
- **SIA is essential**:

- **Working 3 on 2 off**:

- **Average 4.2 days and 41 hours per week**:

- **Monday to Sunday**
- Ensure you are aware of the gallery's shared values and ensure they are implemented
- Ensure you provide a welcoming presence for all staff, guests and visitors entering the gallery
- Ensure you report for duty on time and are in the right position ready for the gallery opening
- Take responsibility for problems/issues that staff and visitors may have
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Prevent and deter unauthorized access to the site
- To provide a first-line response to incidents within the boundary of the galleries property line Ensure the entrances to the gallery are correctly set up and ready for opening to the gallery each day and that all relevant equipment is correctly in place
- Have the ability to carry out emergency procedures within the gallery including dynamic lock downs
- Conduct external and internal security patrols, ensuring they are carried out effectively and safely
- Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- To implement and adhere to any security requirement if a threat level is altered
- To respond to first aid incidents as and when required
- Report instances of property at risk of being lost/stolen, damaged, or vandalized e Operate security equipment assigned to you correctly
- Conduct security searches when requested such as bag searching or screening of visitors and operating security search equipment
- Carry out initial investigations and report both verbally and in writing on incidents, suspicious activities, objects and vehicles
- Respond to panic alarm activation's within the gallery
- Respond to calls for assistance when requested to do so
- Assist in salvage duties when requested to do so

- No current criminal convictions.
