As a key member of the Trust’s non-medical clinical education team, the Clinical Placement Lead will have the strategic oversight of the delivery of nursing and AHP student placements across the Trust. The successful applicant will work with the Heads of Clinical Education, a team of Clinical Educators and an administration hub to ensure that educational resources are used to support both students and student supervisors in practice and to ensure learners experience a high-quality placement experience. The Placement Lead will be an established leader and able to develop strong working relationship at all levels across the Trust and with external partners to develop a culture whereby the student experience is firmly embedded in practice and is quality assured.

**The main responsibilities of the post include**:

- To take a strategic lead on non-medial clinical placements across the Trust, including both pre-registration nursing and pre-registration AHP student placements.
- To provide assurance that all pre
- registration nurses, nursing associates and Allied Health Professional (AHP) students have an identified clinical placement and practice supervisor and assessor in place.
- To develop placement capacity across the Trust in collaboration with clinical placement areas and external partners ensuring that patient safety is at the core of all placement experiences and using new models of placement allocation where appropriate.
- To work closely with clinical educators, practice supervisors, practice assessors and managers to measure and monitor the experience of students when on placement within our Trust.
- To act on any placement feedback provided by students or supervisors in a timely and appropriate manner.
- To ensure quality assurance of the learning environments through educational audits and partnership agreements.
- To develop outcomes measures that the Trust can use to report to relevant internal and external boards.
- To ensure that adequate educational resources are available to educate teams to support learners in practice.
- To maintain a professional portfolio demonstrating clinical practice and skills.
- To lead on the development of clinical policies and protocols relating to clinical placements which incorporate the standards required by regulatory bodies.
- To work in partnership with the Trust Preceptorship Lead and clinical services in the recruitment of newly qualified nurses, nursing associates and AHPs as required.
- To ensure and oversee the induction of student learners to the Trust.
- To coordinate and manage the activities of the placement hub.
