PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsibility for the prioritisation, risk assessment and accurate evaluation of open, restricted, sensitive and covert Intelligence submissions in line with Force priorities and in accordance with the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and MOPI guidelines.

To review, research and triage all intelligence submissions and ensure high quality data integrity when updating police systems to ensure its compliance to guidelines and its accuracy for use.

To support and assist the Force in the identification and early tasking of Intelligence to enable the effective deployment of operational resources.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
2 To provide Intelligence evaluation, development and sharing, prioritising against threat, harm, risk & vulnerability. Evaluate open, covert, restricted, partnership and sensitive Intelligence, including access control levels and the protection of sources as per legislation and Force policy.

3 Have a high attention to detail to ensure that Intelligence and associated risk is linked and recorded accurately within police systems.

4 To build and maintain relationships with the wider organisation by communicating and educating both officers/staff and external Partnership Agencies regarding what should and should not be recorded within the submission of their Intelligence.

5 To read, evaluate, sanitise, action and disseminate Intelligence, this includes the protection/integrity of covert intelligence within EMSOU and the Proactive Crime and Intelligence team structure.

6 Assess and identify Intelligence where there are safeguarding concerns and/or crime recording is required and raise these for appropriate action.

7 Research of Force databases and other Intelligence sources in line with Intelligence requirements and collection plans.

8 To receive, research and respond to enquiries from external law enforcement and or partner agencies.

NOTE:
The job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out by the post holder and identifies a level of responsibility at which the post holder will be required to work. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
The annual leave entitlement is 25 days with an additional 5 days after 3 years continuous service.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

INTELLIGENCE MANAGEMENT OFFICER

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Substantive work-based experience: To include excellent research skills and the ability to handle, collate and evaluate information.

2. Self-motivated: Able to plan ahead and prioritise workload whilst meeting deadlines, taking personal responsibility and ownership for outputs and working without close supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

3. Teamwork - Ability to work effectively as part of a team demonstrating awareness of individual differences and providing support as required.

4. Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to deal confidently, assertively and diplomatically with people at all levels.

5. Technically proficient and familiar with the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

6. Demonstrate an ability to be confidential and impartial.

8. Considers and shows respect for the opinions, circumstances and feelings of colleagues and members of the public, in accordance with the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

1. Previous experience within a law enforcement or Intelligence environment
2. Knowledge of specialist software (EG: NICHE, PINS, NFLMS, PNC, PND)
3. Knowledge of Northamptonshire Police computer systems.
4. Good understanding of the National Intelligence Model including MoPI.
