We are recruiting for a Head of Service & Aftersales for a leading automation business with a state-of-the-art design and manufacturing facility in the in the West Yorkshire area.

Reporting to the Production Director, the Head of Service & Aftersales will assume full responsibility for the development of a new customer support and service department, with accountability for developing a strategy for growth, financial performance, leadership, service prioritisation & delivery, training and day to day management of staff for the department.

The Head of Service & Aftersales will work with the sales department to understand customer after sales requirements for new equipment procurement. Working with other departments as required the Head of Service & Aftersales will deliver quotations for spares, develop new service and support sales through independent business development, sentence warranty provisions, and deliver companywide service and support.
- Head of Service & Aftersales_ _Key Responsibilities- Ensure customer requirements/opportunities are handled via the most appropriate route

(service/support or project based)
- Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Identifying and securing customers and opportunities that will provide strong margin performance and

recurring revenue
- Negotiating contracts and service agreements to minimise company exposure whilst maintaining

profitability
- Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of support in line with contract requirements and managing customer expectations
- Developing and delivering key metrics to drive the department performance and provide reporting to the Senior Management Team
- Ensuring all customer issues and warranty claims are dealt with in a swift and satisfactory manner
- Manage the service department, ensuring appropriate resource requirements are maintained to service customers
- In partnership with the design leads, gain knowledge of each project design to ensure all opportunities for service and support upselling are identified
- Manage staff development, welfare, and rewards, including annual objectives, appraisals, training needs,

and mentoring
- Management of site RAMS and method statements ensuring staff always remain safe
- Head of Service & Aftersales_ _Key Skills & Experience _
- Track record in a similar support and service department but not necessarily to have lead the department
- Efficient delivery of multiple concurrent customer-focused service contracts
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to communicate at all levels and with Customers, suppliers and colleagues
- Strong MSOffice and written reporting skills
- Willingness to travel (within the UK and abroad) when required
- Qualifications _
- Minimum HNC qualified
