Peer support transformation lead - 18 month secondment

This is an exciting and important opportunity to be a lead in a programme that is helping shape new ways of joint working across our mental health services. As part of KMPT’s commitment to lead in partnership to deliver the right care and to reduce health inequalities in our communities, we are recruiting into a new created role.

The Peer Support Transformation Lead is an 18 month secondment who will scope and deliver new partnerships and ways of working between KMPT and the Voluntary community or social enterprise organisations across Kent and Medway. They will also have responsibility for oversight and delivery of peer support workers across KMPT

We recognise the valuable contribution those with lived experience can bring to our focus on recovery and we want to work with community partners to develop this even further.

The peer support transformational lead will be a highly visible and credible professional leader. They will provide a source of expertise and guidance around peer support work both within KMPT and in collaboration with partner organisations across Kent and Medway.

The Peer Support Transformation Lead will influence and drive strategic sustainable change in peer support delivery, challenging current ways of working and working across traditional organisational boundaries.

They will develop new partnerships and ways of working between KMPT and partner organisations across Kent and Medway.

This post will work both within KMPT and partner organisations, developing new relationships, model of working and services.
- To hold professional responsibility for peer support workers within KMPT and within the system as posts are developed, developing appropriate governance and processes.
- To scope and develop roles for peers across KMPT and Kent and Medway VCSEs
- To identify new peer support pathways and opportunities for partnering in collaboration with VCSEs and KMPT across Kent and Medway.
- To develop and review strategy, guidance and policy documents in relation to peer work in the organisation, ensuring horizon scanning and innovation.
- To be responsible and accountable for ensuring compliance with peer support policies and delivering peer support worker improvements in line with local and national guidance and trust strategies.
- To provide supervision and direction for senior peer leads within KMPT
- Ensure that peer support practice within teams is of a high quality and aligned to trust values and key priorities.
