Accounts Assistant

We are a busy, finance department supporting an aviation maintenance company, and a private aircraft company, based at Bournemouth Airport.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking at an entry into accounts to experience all areas of a finance department, or for someone with an experience in one area of accounts wanting to develop knowledge into other areas.
**What this varied role entails**:
**Sales Ledger**
- Create sales invoices on accounting system
- Send sales invoices to customers
- Liaise with customers to ensure timely payments are made / manage any discrepancies raised
- Liaise with internal departments with regards to Sales Queries
- Reconcile sales receipts
- Process statements to customers
- Ensure all customer data is relevant and up to date
- Produce aged receivable reports
**Purchase Ledger**
- Process all purchase invoices on accounting system
- Liaise with suppliers with regards to payments
- Liaise with internal departments with regards to Purchase Queries
- Reconcile supplier statements with accounting system
- Prepare payment runs
- Process employee expenses
- Reconcile purchase payments
- Ensure all supplier data is relevant and up to date
- Produce aged payable reports
**Accounts Administration**
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns
- Answer telephone calls
- Assist with queries from other departments
- Prepare employee wages for payroll
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assist with the preparation of budgets
**What we are looking for from you**:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at 4 / C
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Can do attitude
- Team player
- Friendly demeanour
- Ability to reliably commute to Bournemouth, Airport
- Available between the hours of Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00
- Full (40 hours) or part time (20 hours minimum) considered
