Manufacturing Apprentice

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Manufacturing Apprentices will undertake training in a range of engineering based activities to develop skills and experience with a plan to develop a career in mechanical engineering.
They will complete a 4 year apprenticeship specialising in Mechanical Engineering and will study with TDR Training, completing a portfolio of evidence to prove their competence to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
British Engines Group company, CMP Products, is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of cable glands, cable cleats and cable accessories. CMP manufactures its products from three facilities based in Cramlington, Northumberland, and has a global distribution network, supported by ten offices spread across six continents from Houston, USA, to Busan in South Korea.
**Duties**:
- To develop skills in the use of hand tools
- To understand how businesses operate and the interrelationships between departments and activities
- To setup, operate and adjust/edit equipment settings as applicable to the machine tool being used
- To produce, prove and/or edit programmes
- To identify and solves problems as part of quality checks of components
- To measure and check components being produced, and making adjustments to the equipment/programme to ensure components meet the require specification
- To comply with the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
- To ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
- To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected
**The person**:
Effective time management, strong communication and problem solving skills are essential.
They must be a team player but able to work on their own initiative when the situation demands.
They will have the ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines, and be able to work under pressure and within time constraints.
These positions will be on a full time basis - working hours are 37 per week.
