We have a new role at HealthNet Homecare as **Head of Information Governance, **responsible for strategic and operational management of Information Governance and Data Protection activities.

This role will lead in the development, interpretation and companywide implementation and monitoring of Information Governance Frameworks to support HealthNet's mission and objectives.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Act as the Data Protection Officer for HealthNet
- Monitor companywide compliance with UK GDP Regulations and other local data protection laws, policies, training and audits.
- Initiate actions to address areas of non-compliance, report on progress and risks to the Board.
- Develop and implement processes to resolve and improve compliance issues across HealthNet.
- Be the recognised authority on all IG matters within HealthNet and provide advice and guidance on highly complex information.
- Assess the impact of changes to national IG requirement and initiatives and to the NHS England Data Security and Protection toolkit.
- Review and advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Ensure appropriate Data Sharing Agreements are in place and maintained.
- Review and advise on client contracts in relation to Data Processing, Data Retention and Data Protection Policies.

**Experience & Qualifications**
- Expert knowledge of Information Governance in a range of corporate disciplines.
- Degree in law, IT, healthcare or a related field (desirable)
- In depth knowledge of Data Protection laws and regulations, in particular Data Protection Act (2018) and UK GDPR.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Certified Data Protection Officer or Certified Information Privacy Professional.
