If you are looking for a rewarding career and to work within an epic team that will help you grow and thrive, then you have come to the right place. Working within our Dundee Self Harm service you can start your day knowing what you do really does make a difference

Self-Harm is when someone deliberately harms themselves. It is a very personal response to a complex range of different factors such as dealing with emotional pain, feeling disconnected, and/or feeling stressed. There is also increasing evidence of the link between the experience of trauma and self-harm.

To assist people who use the service to establish and maintain a meaningful and fulfilling life in the community. Peer Workers play a central role in the planning and provision of quality, recovery focused support to people who use the service.

Providing a service for people aged over 16, the innovative Dundee Self Harm Service aims to support recovery, promote resilience and facilitate good mental wellbeing for survivors of childhood abuse who use self-harm as a coping strategy. The service will also actively work to increase awareness, skills and confidence in the sector through the sharing of knowledge and experience of self-harm and the need for trauma-informed responses.

Through the unique insight and empathy gained from a lived experience of successfully overcoming mental health challenges, Peer Workers will support people to identify their individual barriers, challenge negative thinking and develop healthier coping strategies through sharing practical tools and techniques and connecting people with services appropriate to their circumstances and goals.

We can offer you a tonne of employee benefits, and we can promise you’ll be inspired by some pretty amazing humans every single day. We will support you on your own career path; developing new skills, accessing formal and informal learning experiences and providing opportunities to put your continual progress into practice.
