Market leader in the Signage / Graphics industry. We are a large Leeds based company with a varied blue chip customer base that encompasses sectors including retail, banking, automotive, licensed trade and more.

**Report to: Purchasing Executive**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000 a year

The company works with some top clients and is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to come on board to work on a variety of projects.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Carry out professional buying practices with the aim to achieve agreed targeted cost reductions in both cost of sales and overhead areas.
- Benchmark current supplier spends, prices and terms and conditions.
- Negotiate new and existing supplier terms and conditions.
- Implement and maintain an authorised supplier system to include service level agreements.
- Audit current supplier and assess their abilities on price and delivery targets.
- Investigate and introduce an annual supplier spend rebate with key suppliers.
- Source new suppliers for standard production items.
- Investigate and source overseas suppliers as required.
- Create and maintain a database of suppliers for standard and bespoke items.
- Become involved in make or buy decisions and costing.
- Investigate and highlight area within the business were process currently bought in could be manufactured /assembled in house.
- Liaise with all departments as appropriate to overcome issues experienced by suppliers & manufacturers.
- Ensure product meets all relevant safety and test legislation.
- Initiate regular vendor assessment procedures to establishment the capabilities of any potential manufacturers.
- Involvement in sourcing of products and technologies where appropriate.
- Perform one off project management tasks as requested.
- Keep the company updated with all latest product safety legislation requirements.
- Involvement in development and direct sourcing for defined B.O.M items.
- Day to Day buying of raw materials, services, part finished products and completed products.
- Progressing orders.
- Supporting the Purchasing Executive in strategic purchasing exercises.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Signage knowledge would be an advantage.

You will have some experience within a similar role and have relevant qualifications as well as being fully conversant with Microsoft Office.
