Gordon Moody provides a Retreat and counselling programme for both women and men with severe gambling problems. This is provided through a 4-stage treatment package combining 2 therapeutic residential stays with 2 stages of community treatment lasting a total of 12 weeks.

The R&C therapist is responsible for providing treatment support for attendees of this programme.

The post holder will support the referrals panel providing insights into service user readiness for the programme. This will include identifying safeguarding risks and assisting the R&C team in preparing for the treatment retreat programmes.

Upon completion of each of the programmes, the post holder will liaise closely with the R&C outreach worker to ensure a thorough and robust handover ensuring continuity of high levels of treatment post programme.

The post holder will work to ensure that the development of services meets the aims and objectives of Gordon Moody and serves to further enhance the well-established reputation for high-quality treatment and recovery support.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Service Delivery
- To provide appropriate recovery-focused therapeutic advice and support to assist service users in addressing their gambling problems and achieving their goals in line with the Gordon Moody Respite and Counselling (R&C) programme.
- To support service users through structured one-to-one, group-work interventions, and activities using a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Person-Centered techniques
- To support the provision of virtual ‘orientation’ before the commencement of the R&C programme.
- To support the provision of online group support under the direction of the senior therapists and service manager
- To undertake assessments on need, continuous risk assessment and use assessments to inform session planning.
- Work alongside colleagues and future residents to ascertain the appropriateness of treatment and commitment/readiness towards treatment to inform the referrals panel and the treatment team regards any risks or concerns identified that need to be addressed.
- Manage a caseload of residents and keep clear date records of their progress, needs, interventions provided, and any issues dealt with within our case management system.
- To empower residents in identifying goals to meet their wider health and social care needs, including mental health, debt, family issues etc., assisting with signposting and referrals to ongoing support as necessary
- To work collaboratively with separate departments and external agencies as required.
- Complete all admin jobs as part of the role promptly.
- To develop and maintain relationships where appropriate with family and loved ones, and to be the main point of contact for brief support and signposting
- Positively and constructively engaging in line management supervision and appraisal, clinical supervision and team meetings on time.
- Support the provision of online group support (through the Gambling Therapy website) under the direction of the senior therapist and the service manager.

**Innovation**
- To support the review and development of the programme through evaluation, continuous improvement and development of new initiatives and interventions.
- Take part in regular review of the content of the programme with other therapeutic colleagues to ensure a clear and consistent approach across the organisation's wider treatment programmes.
- To proactively support the work of the organisation with external stakeholders and act as an ambassador for Gordon Moody.
