An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist role based within the Outside the Box Team, Offender Personality Disorder Pathway within HMP Channings Wood. The service has been operational for two years and is still developing, therefore this is an exciting time to join the service.

Outside the Box is distinctive in its set up as the team is a mixture of health staff working alongside prison officers. The team work in pairs running groups and interventions together. All our work at Outside the Box is underpinned by psychological theories and models. We offer a range of interventions for prisoners with personality difficulties from 1:1 reach outs through to groups and 1:1 therapy sessions with a qualified Psychologist. This client group can be challenging and hard to engage so enthusiasm and learning to live with frustrations and setbacks alongside a genuine passion to want to make a difference to peoples lives will be paramount.
