Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Permanent

**Salary**:Hourlypay rate: £15.41

Monday to Friday 06:00 to15:30 -1 in 5 weekend callout cover

Location:Quainton, parking on site

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be required to maintain the hatcheries machinery and associated plant and ancillary equipment allied with the establishment process, such as setting and hatching machines & ventilation, and to carry out ongoing improvementprojects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Take the lead on engineering practices within the hatchery.
- Ensuring that Engineering maintenance is carried out in line with the schedule and that effective and efficient corrective actions are taken.
- Quick and effective response to breakdowns, identifying root cause and suggesting possible improvements where possible to prevent further breakdowns from occurring.
- Communicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Hatchery Manager and working with operations to minimise Hatchery disruption.
- Following good engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department.
- Ensure all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety guidelines and highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Hatchery Manager.
- Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues
- Follow the communicated escalation process for unscheduled Hatchery downtime and minimise downtime by following a good engineering practice.
- Demonstrate basic problem-solving techniques to identify root cause of issues.
- Raise Stock and Non-Stock request forms.
- Contractor Management.
- Assisting the hatchery team in the hatching process as and when required.

The Person:

- You must be self-motivated with the aptitude to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently or part of a team.

Essential:

- Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering 4+ years of engineering experience.
- Electrical experience/ Welding / fabrication experience.
- Familiarity with process machinery or equi
