**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Grade: Handyperson

Responsible to: Maintenance Supervisor

Accountable to: Estates Manager

**JOB SUMMARY**

This job description is not exhaustive and other duties and responsibilities of a similar level and nature may be required from time to time.
- This post will be employed on a Monday to Friday day shift, 08.30 to 16.30 with a working week of 37.5 hours and being available for reasonable overtime as needed.
- The post holders main place of work will be the Royal Victoria Hospital or Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

To perform any task within their experience and capability and shall include any of the under mentioned tasks.
- React to reactive calls to attend and assess the reactive task.
- Make safe were possible.
- Carry out first fix if the task is within their capability.
- Feedback to the Helpdesk/Work Flow Co-Ordinator to allow the correct resource to be deployed to carry out the final fix.
- Carry out various minor maintenance duties as required.
- React to breakdown maintenance requests as required.
- Undertake routine plant checks as required.
- Undertake general cleaning duties as required.
- Assist other maintenance personnel where necessary.
- Work safely and in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures.
- Help maintain accurate estates records and plant history.
- Deal with new situations as they arise.
- Pass on working knowledge as required.
- Undertake training as required.

**GENERAL**

**The post holder will have an obligation to undertake where necessary, training to ensure the level of competency is upheld.**

To be fully aware of and adhere to the relevant policies and procedures.
