**Job Description**:
Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct assessments of children and families in need, using a range of tools and techniques
- Develop and implement care plans to support the needs of children and families
- Provide support and guidance to families and individuals, helping them to manage their own problems and improve their overall well-being
- Work closely with other professionals, including health workers and educators, to ensure that the needs of children and families are met
- Attend and participate in court proceedings as required
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records, in accordance with legislation and departmental policies
- Continuously update the knowledge of the children's legislation, national and local policy and procedures
- Participate in supervision and team meetings

Qualifications and Experience:

- Holds a relevant social work degree, and registered with Social Work England
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience as a social worker, with experience working in a Children & Families Assessment Team
- Knowledge and understanding of child development, child protection and welfare, family dynamics and the role of multi-disciplinary working
- Strong assessment and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage a high caseload, and to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and other professionals
- Willingness to work flexibly and a commitment to professional development
