Woodworking Production Operative

**Multi skilled Shop-floor Production Operative in a woodworking factory environment**
We are a small well established (30 yrs+) manufacturing company based in Calne, producing high quality speaker cabinets for the music industry.
A vacancy has arisen on our production floor for a multi skilled operative. This role would involve working in any and all areas of the production and finishing process, as the workflow demands.
**Main duties to include**:
Pre-assembly: Fixing together wooden components to each other or the fitting of metal brackets, thread inserts, tee nuts etc. for building into speaker cabinets on final assembly.
Final Assembly: As part of a team you will complete the assembly of wooden speaker enclosures ready to go to the next stage of manufacture using wood glue, brads, staples and screws.
Power Sanding: Power sanding cabinets to blend using various manual sanding machines.
Paint shop: Spraying of cabinets, components and ancillaries to the desired colour, quality and specification using various paint types as requested in safe and efficient manner.
**Qualities/ Experience Required**:
A positive flexible attitude with a strong work ethic is vital, as is manual dexterity.
An ability and willingness to learn are the most critical attributes we are looking for. It would be advantageous if you have experience in the assembly/ finishing of wooden type components (eg. Fitted kitchens, bedroom furniture etc.), however experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
The ability to read and understand to a basic level 2D assembly drawings.
**Rate of pay**:
The starting rate is £10.43 per hour, rising to £11.43 per hour once you have completed your training.
Hours of work are 40 hrs a week, Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30 pm. There is a paid 15 minute break at 10am and an unpaid 30 minute lunch break from 1pm - 1.30pm
Holidays are 30 days per year including Bank Holidays (of which 5 days are kept for Christmas shutdown).
Overtime is available at enhanced rates of pay, and we offer free on-site parking.
