Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Asbestos Officer to join our team. As an Asbestos Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with asbestos regulations and guidelines, conducting inspections, and overseeing asbestos removal projects. This is a vital role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our employees and the public.

**Duties**:

- Conduct regular inspections to identify asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings
- Develop and implement asbestos management plans
- Coordinate and oversee asbestos removal projects, ensuring proper containment and disposal procedures are followed
- Monitor contractors to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines
- Conduct air monitoring and sampling during asbestos removal activities
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing results, and removal projects
- Provide training to employees on asbestos awareness and safe handling procedures
- Stay up-to-date with current asbestos regulations and industry best practices

Qualifications:

- Minimum of [X] years of experience as an Asbestos Officer or in a related role
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding asbestos management and removal
- Strong understanding of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and their identification
- Proficient in conducting inspections, air monitoring, and sampling
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately document findings
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of painting techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools for various tasks
- Basic electrical knowledge for working around electrical systems safely
- Understanding of masonry work for building maintenance purposes
- Familiarity with power tools for construction projects
- Ability to work on roofs safely
- Basic plumbing skills for maintenance tasks
- Welding skills for repairs or fabrication work
- Carpentry skills for building or repairing structures
- Ability to fabricate materials as needed
