**Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Co-ordinator**

**Dyce, Aberdeen**

ARR Craib Transport Ltd is pleased to advertise the position of

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Co-ordinator, to be based in Dyce, Aberdeen.

This position will involve occasional travel to ARR Craib’s other sites in Inverness and Glasgow as and when required.

**The position of Health, Safety & Environment Co-ordinator involves**:

- Foster strong relationships with and influence operational business areas.
- Working with the Depot Managers and the Group HSEQ Team, proactively deliver continuous improvements in all H&S management processes and metrics to improve overall business performance.
- Ensure adoption of best practice H&S management processes including ‘Potential Hazard’ and accident reporting, accident investigation & trend analysis, risk assessments, safe systems of work, employee engagement and training.
- Assist in the implementation of initiatives to embed a strong H&S awareness culture.
- Assist in the deployment of the Company’s H&S Management System to maintain ISO 45001 accreditation and assist in ISO 45001 external audits.
- Support the H&S audit programmes and support the closure of any corrective actions.
- Ensure the integrity of HSE performance metrics, ensuring these reflect the Company’s HSE performance.
- Influence key stakeholders including General Managers, depot managers and site H&S ambassadors related to Group H&S policy and working practices.
- Assist in the development, education and training of the H&S Ambassador community across the Company.
- Co-ordinate fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks, emergency evacuation drills and first aid drills.
- Co-ordinate the Company’s Fire Wardens and First Aiders.
- Co-ordinate all property related servicing / inspections, e.g. fire alarm inspections, fire extinguisher checks, racking inspections, asbestos visual checks, PAT testing, etc.
- Ensure selected contractors for works on Company sites are approved and provide RAMs as required.
- Raise and manage permits to work as required for works on Company sites.
- Induct contractors on site (for works on Company sites).
- Co-ordinate the communication of HSE material to employees by all required means (e.g. involvement in tool-box talks, update of notice boards, mailshots, etc).
- Respond to external H&S information requests.
- Champion the Group’s internal ‘Safety First’ branding.
- The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

**Essential skills required for Health, Safety & Environment Co-ordinator**:

- Proven, demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally gained in a related industry such as distribution and warehousing.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an HSE or similar role.
- NEBOSH General certificate.
- Track record of driving and delivering measurable H&S and quality improvements and change within a dynamic, growing business.
- An effective leader and influencer. Well-honed skills relating to stakeholder engagement and experience with liaison and influence at all management levels.
- A strong track record delivering sustainable safety performance improvement through behavioural and cultural change.
- An industry recognised qualification such as the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).

**Desirable skills for Health, Safety & Environment Co-ordinator**:

- H&S management in a distribution and warehousing environment.
- Working towards NEBOSH Diploma.
- ISO H&S systems management, including 45001.
