Murray Myers are very pleased to be assisting our client in the recruitment of a Commercial Director for a progressive and fast growing engineering business based in WV4 - Wolverhampton.

The purpose of this role is to represent the business as Commercial Direction and to form, integrate and lead the commercial and contract management team across an array of business opportunities and contractors, for various national and international clientswhilst being able to structure and develop their people.

As Commercial Director, you are expected to develop and implement a strategy to improve how they trendier and deliver new projects, reviewing T&C’s, analysing the risks and opportunities, studying schedule baselines and critical paths and advising on thedeliver strategy of the company.

The aim is to move the organisation from a Tier 3/4 to a Tier 2/3 supplier in the marketplace

The role encompasses five key requirements
- Strategically outward facing to client
- Strategically inward facing within the company
- Developing and mentoring the resources
- Commercial Contract Management
- Maintaining respectful communication and positive behaviours across the business - Leading by example and not to be afraid to be on hands on if required

Accountable to the MD for the:

- Structure of the Commercial Function to be able to deliver the business expectation in terms of budget, deliver time and quality of deliverable
- Holistic performance of the commercial team in terms of time, cost, quality, integrity, capability, competency, capacity and behaviours.
- Timely completion of commercial tender support activities to advise the board of directors before bid settlement and before contract signed for acceptance.
- Successfully chairing projects delivery performance reviews
- Involved in the prospect strategy development
- Writing/Maintenance of Commercial Procedures to constantly improve the performance and attractive ness of the commercial function internally and externally.
- Surveillance and/or guidance of Senior Commercial Managers

Essential Role related Knowledge
- Degree Qualified in relevant construction and engineering relations qualification (or law or business) with post graduate qualification - MSc or PHD
- Chartered Professional Member - RICS or CIOB - or similar
- Excellent working knowledge of contracts (particularly NEC 3 & 4)
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a highly regulated construction/engineering environment

This role is conditional on SC clearance to be obtained within 6 months.

Based in Wolverhampton but Hybrid offering is available.
